Karoli Lwanga Hospital was established in 1963 by the Franciscan Sisters of Breda (Netherlands) as a Catholic church based voluntary health agency in the diocese of Kabale.

The Hospital is a private not for profit health training hospital providing general and specialized medical care, special clinics like diabetic, hypertensive and TB clinics and emergency care services among others.

The Hospital has evolved commensurate to the healthcare needs of its catchment population. Functioning as the Referral Hospital for Rukungiri District, the facility has grown into a vast complex, employing 170 people, and serving over 40,000 patients per year.

We have served Ugandans with an unfading smile, inspired by the mission of Christ; "I have come that they may have life and have it to the full" (John 10:10)
